Leon Sowell's Detroit, Toledo & Ironton was a little HO jewel with excellent scenery, good running equipment, and very effective stage lighting. Leon had been threatening to tear it down for years, and this time he was serious. He's working on his new railroad in his new home.

He'd been using Dynatrol and car cards for operation of this early 50's era pike, of the small class 1 operations of this hypothetical northern Appalachian extension of this great little railroad with orange diesels.

Leon sent along some text describing his future plans:

"The Jackson Division of the DT&I will move to Lake Orion in 2003 with twice the amount of space. The new layout will continue to be the southern end of the DT&I with longer runs between towns and more staging. The Dynatrol system will be exchanged for Easy DCC and 2 levels incorporated. The era will be 1956 with all 1st generation diesels."
