Bruce Ernatt likes mainline railroading and yellow diesels. Come to think of it, he likes maroon diesels too! His Union Pacific is a Dynatrol controlled big time modern railroad set in 1999. Bruce operates with wheel reports, and the focus in on main line movements between big terminals.

The Union Pacific Mainline between Kansas City and Cheyenne supplies the action of thru drags, unit trains, locals, and extras in HO scale.

The dispatcher in Omaha controls the assigned trains in and out of Neff Yard in K.C.  The trains pass the towns of Kearney, Ogallala, Valley, and Big Springs. Hotspots can be found at Gibbon, O'Fallons, & Julesburg where the trains may take the cut-offs to Omaha, Powder River, and Denver.

It takes 12 operators to move the cars to and from the major cities along the way. Headsets are used for communication with the dispatcher, who is watching over the train movements.  Trains are broken down by car number and reassembled and delivered by car type for the various industries. Unit coal trains are handled in a loads=empty fashion from the mines to the power plants.
